We’ll let you know right off the bat that Andrew has had a bountiful and rewarding work life. We’ve tried our best to morph his professional background into a single blog friendly entry which hopefully does a fine job of grasping the extent of Andrew’s automotive-ridden track record.
An avid high school football and basketball player along with being an oarsman racing at Henley for the Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs in St Catharines, Andrew made the decision to leave high school in 1988, intent on making it in the world on his own. Sticking around his home turf, Andrew went knocking on Pace Car Import’s door for a job as a car salesman. It’s here where Andrew’s now unbridled love for the BMW brand was born. In the midst of receiving his sales training Andrew purchased his first BMW, a 1984 325e with a manual transmission and a manual metal sunroof.
But for anyone that knows Andrew, you know that he’s all about the 7 Series – BMW’s flagship. So it wasn’t long before Andrew upgraded to a 1984 stick-shift 733i. Since then, Andrew’s owned every generation 7 Series all the way to his current daily driver, a 2009 Black Sapphire 750i.
Continuing our walk through Andrew’s resumé, we arrive at a local Pontiac & Buick dealership where Andrew filled the position of Sales Manager. Even though Pontiacs may not have been his cup of tea, Andrew welcomed the promotion with open arms. Then in 1999, Andrew again shifted to a higher gear as the General Manager of Continental Honda in Welland, Ontario. After a successful tenure at Honda, Andrew decided to spend some time developing some of his own ideas. This meant working closely with a company called ‘Dealer Access’ who specialized in online credit adjudication systems. However, because his valued experience and guidance in the automotive industry was a hot commodity, it wasn’t long before Andrew was contacted by yet another dealership. In mid-2001, along came a headhunter who successfully pitched the General Manager position at a Woodbridge-based Land Rover & Jaguar dealership called ‘Coventry North.’ Several years later down the road,Andrew decided to take on another challenge. This time successfully reviving BWM Maranello’s Pre-Owned sales department. Not one to ever sit still, Andrew then spent the next few years working on his entrepreneurial ventures surrounding automated trade appraisal software.
Fast forward to January 2011 and Andrew is asked by a friend to make the move to Endras BMW as the Pre-Owned Sales Manager. Looking back at the department’s sales before Andrew’s arrival, we can’t even begin to thank him for his leadership, guidance, expertise, and knowledge that has helped snowball the Endras BMW Pre-Owned sales department into one of the finest and most successful
Pre-Owned divisions across the Canadian BMW network. When asked what keeps him motivated day in and day out, Andrew replies that he loves the fact that his job continually keeps him on his toes and he relishes the opportunity to help his sales team ensure that each customer walks out of here with their dream BMW.
A few interesting facts about Mr. McGraw are his love for the New England Patriots and his undying belief in the Toronto Maple Leafs. He’s also a ‘moderate’ mountain biker, a sport he enjoys with his fiancée Tanya. Each and every morning they go for a walk to the local Starbucks. They do this not just for their morning latte (Andrew) and cappuccino (Tanya), but also to stretch the legs of their two bulldogs, Tank and Lola. When Andrew’s not at work, watching sports, or mountain biking, he enjoys a bit of gardening and decorating around his new place in Thornhill. Lastly, Andrew dreams of one day owning a 1972 Lamborghini Miura S, a desire that only grew stronger a few years ago when his friend let him behind the wheel for a spirited drive.
We’d like to hereby thank Andrew for the excellent results he’s achieved within the Pre-Owned department and we wish him continued success both at Endras BMW and with his many endeavours.
