On the last weekend in May, the small municipality of Cernobbio in the Province of Como was host to to a very special collection of motorcycles and cars – the annual Concorso d’Eleganza. Held at the Villa d’Este, this year’s event featured another unthinkably beautiful display of unobtainable classics, cutting-edge concept cars, and stunning motorcycles. At the end of another marvelous weekend spent looking at everything that’s beautiful in the world from the quaint shores of Lake Como, the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este proclaimed its worthy winners.

Pictured above is BMW Group Chief Designer Adrian van Hooydonk standing next to the striking BMW Zagato Coupe. Power comes from an upgraded version of the N54 Twin-Turbo engine that reportedly produces 400 horsepower. The Coupe is 200 kilograms lighter than a stock Z4 Coupe made possible by fitting an aluminum body. For now, it looks like the German-Italian collaboration between two of the world’s greatest design houses will remain at a one-off coach build.

Is Italy as glorious as it’s reputation, and are the people who reside there involved deep in their culture?
It’s indeed glorious! Italians are deeply passionate people. Not just about motoring, but about all things wonderful in life.
