As we listen to him explain the most tedious and complicated of mechanics, it is tough to grasp that only a few years ago he was a chef at a Caribbean restaurant cooking up all kinds of deliciousness. What’s even tougher to grasp is how Darrenn ended up at BMW. Growing up in a family of loyal GM employees, nothing had ever excited him about the lacklustre American brand. Blame it on the somewhat mild styling or the lackadaisical ride, there was just something about it that got Darren turning to BMW instead. In high school, he completed a co-op technician term at the BMW Experience Centre in Whitby, a corporate-owned dealership that eventually
changed location to Ajax, changed owners, and became the current Endras BMW. Ever since the location change, Darrenn would point to our impressive modern building and tell himself that one day he would work there.
After a successful tenure as an Endras BMW porter, the Parts Manager promoted Darrenn to his current position. As one of the three Endras BMW Parts Advisors, Darrenn is in charge of taking parts orders from our technicians, wholesale customers, and walk-in customers. In particular, Darrenn is responsible for the front lifestyle counter which means he keeps a close eye on the inventory levels and presentation of all the clothing and accessories within our lifestyle shop. A significant portion of his time is allocated to walk-in customers who describe much needed parts with their hands and feet as Darren attempts to decipher what piece they’re on about. It’s a trying task that Darrenn manages beautifully.

In his spare time, Darrenn buys clunkers and fixes them up for a quick buck. His current car is a very reasonable 1999 Nissan Altima, a car which he’s saved from demise by performing some nifty bodywork. Today it looks and drives like new and Darrenn is therefore able to hold off a little while longer before purchasing his very own BMW 3 Series Coupe. Not only handy with a spanner, Darrenn also knows his way around a computer which means lots of late night hours are spent fiddling with software and the occasional firewall. An interesting fact about Darrenn is that he owns a Senegal parrot named Deaner. Not only does he have a grey head, orange belly, and green back, he’ll also repeat every word he hears in typical parrot fashion. Furthermore, Deaner also enjoys an occasional nibble on his owner’s fingers. A fact quite visibly apparent when looking down at Darren’s massacred hands.
Looking ahead, Darrenn tells us he’d like to put his IT talents to work and find himself a position in accounting or finance within the Endras BMW family. We certainly couldn’t think of a better fit and wish him the best of luck. We would also like to extend a sincere thank you for Darrenn’s outstanding service and continued dedication on a daily basis.
