Born and raised in Lindsay, Dave has been in the car business for almost his entire life. He started off at the young age of 10 washing and parking Hyundai’s at his uncle’s dealership in Lindsay. After several years and a high school diploma, Dave moved on to a Nissan dealership owned by yet another one of his uncles where he became a business manager.

Even though Dave enjoyed working in the family business, there always comes the time to spread one’s wings, and Dave did, when he left his hometown of Lindsay for a new challenge. He touched down at Endras BMW in 2008, right as the Endras family had taken ownership of the current dealership then named ‘BMW Durham.’ Landing a job at BMW wasn’t just a coincidence for Dave, as it had actually been a life long dream of his to work for the thriving brand that manufactured the ‘Ultimate Driving Machine.’
After a successful tenure selling cars in the Pre-Owned department, Dave took a position as the sales manager of our MINI Department. Twelve months went by and Dave took advantage of yet another opportunity for advancement as he took the job as Assistant Manager to the thriving Pre-Owned department. Growing up in a small town with little BMW representation, Dave knows exactly what it’s like to lust after your very first BMW. It’s exactly that desire that Dave enjoys fulfilling when people arrive at the Pre-Owned showroom looking to purchase their first BMW.
Having worked in the automotive industry for literally his entire life has meant a near non-existent car ownership record. Living the life many of us can only dream of, Dave has always had several demo cars at his disposal – a perk he gets to enjoy in moderation at Endras BMW. Sitting in his glass office in the Pre-Owned showroom, Dave signals over to a Carbon Black X5 M parked a few cars over and says,”that’s the car right there, my dream car.” When we asked why he didn’t opt for the M3 or X6 M parked alongside the X5 M Dave told us “I’m a country boy, and in the country we need trucks, and if it’s got to be a truck then it may as well have 560 horsepower!” Can’t argue with that.
An avid sportsman in his day, Dave played centre in hockey and 8th man for the local Lindsay rugby team. PLaying rugby was an amazing experience for Dave as it allowed him to travel the world playing in different tournaments. However, his rugby team’s number 1 rank in Ontario unfortunately meant very little to the beastly rugby players of Scotland, England, and Barbados who one by one pummelled the unknowing team from Lindsay. Loss after loss, Dave quickly figured out that some nations simply play rugby on another level.
When he’s not playing sports, Dave enjoys spending time with his family at the cottage in Bancroft, wake boarding behind his boat, and attending plenty of weddings. Last year Dave attended a grand total of 5 weddings and not once was it his own. As the joke goes “if he’s the best man, why isn’t she marrying him?” Dave tells us he’s got enough wedding experience to never want to get married himself. Three times a week Dave will hit the links where he’ll fine-tune his consistently awful game. At a handicap of 54, he admits “I’m terrible but it’s awesome” which sounds a lot better than “I’m a great golfer but the weather, course, club, and caddy just aren’t working for me.”
All things said and done we’d like to thank Dave for his many years of hard work and uplifting humour. As the office funny man, salesman extraordinaire, organizational specialist, professional parker, and corporate event bouncer, we just wouldn’t know what to do without Mr. Dave Ferguson in our midst. And with that, we’d like to wish him a long and successful tenure within the Endras family.
